Sleep Better-- No prescription needed ( I like the sounds of this ) Review & Giveaway

Our house is very small or should I say cozy? Every little noise is heard in all rooms which means when Max is nappy we either don't move or tiptoe around the house. When I had the chance to review the Ultimate Sleep Sound Therapy System by Sound + Sleep I knew it was going to serve a couple of purposes in this house. Our Sound + Sleep machine is actually running right this instant on the ocean setting so Max is napping peacefully without hearing the tap, tap tap of me typing this right now! In addition to the soothing sound of ocean waves you can tune into city noises, rainfall, brook (love this one), meditation, white noise, waterfall, fireplace (another fave), meadow or even a train. While some of these don't sound very soothing you would be amazed at how well they are orchestrated and put into a lulling, smooth, constant sound to help you get to sleep and best of all-- stay asleep. Here is what the machine looks like:

Here you can also see its sleek, modern design from the top:

The Sound + Sleep website has a plethora of great sleeping information on it including my favorite section about baby sleep. They talk about the "circular sleep deprivation loop" and how to break it using caring and kind methods with your baby. I love that they promote natural sleep without using prescriptions to create a life of great sleeping habits. Our home is no stranger to white noise machines, we actually had one before this but what makes this one so much superior and unique is its vast array of various sounds, their adaptive sound difference-- the only machine to have this it adjusts to your environment and its design that fits in with the decor of my bedroom.

So you want your very own Sound + Sleep machine? Its not too late to add it to your Christmas list and right now they have some great promotions going or you can try your hand at winning one right here. Here is what you have to do: visit their site and tell me a great sleep fact, follow my blog, like me on facebook and then email me to let me know you did all this. You have until Sunday December 11th. Best of luck to you!

Sound Asleep Curtains

Who doesn't want a better nights sleep?  We fight for sleep around here! My little man goes through sleeping stages where he is on schedule for weeks at a time then he does these all night jags and sleeps through the day. That means I sleep right along with him so the Sound Asleep Room Darkening Curtains were very appealing to me! Just take a look at the room's before and afters:
Just seeing this lets you know why they are the official curtains of the National Sleep Foundation. So how do these curtains work?
"A soft Thermaback coating is applied to fabric to create room darkening qualities. The Thermaback technology reduces penetrating light which helps provide the “darkness” necessary for a better night’s sleep. The curtains also reduce outside noise and their thermal properties aid in reducing home heating and cooling costs."
So not only do they block out the light for better sleeping they also help with your energy costs-- gotta love that! But beyond room darkening and energy efficiency they are also beautiful. Sound Asleep Curtains are made of a woven chenille that would work great with any decor and come in a wide range of colors:
We chose the Blue River and just love how our curtains look. They have inspired a little bedroom makeover to matchup with the curtains! Another great thing is how easy these curtains will be to keep nice-- they are machine washable. You can also check out Sound Asleep Curtains on their facebook page!

Bottlehood Review and COOL Giveaway!

Get ready for this one! I feel so lucky to have gotten to do a review and a giveaway with Bottlehood. They make hands down the coolest recycled glassware I have ever seen. Here is a little about what they do:
"BottleHood’s recycled glassware is made from wine, beer, liquor and soda bottles recycled from restaurants, bars, homes and events in the community. Our repurposed tumblers, juice glasses, vases, pendant beads and light fixtures are all eco-friendly products. Created out of a passion to create local jobs, stimulate our local retail economy and help our environment, BottleHood’s success is a reflection of neighborhood sentiment and support for what BottleHood stands for… a pride in our neighborhood, our local craftsmen and entrepreneurs, and our social responsibility."

So lucky me (and possibly you) I was able to score this cool Patron bowl:

Not only is this bowl so neat because it is made right out of an actual Patron bottle, it is a recycled one giving this glass one more go-around. The "bowl" has been designed from the bottom of the bottle and carefully molded to ensure a smooth edge. This particular one is a good size and will be great for bar snacks, keeping tabs in or just about anything else you can think of. The folks at Bottlehood are letting you in on the fun too! They have up for grabs the best set of tumblers I have seen in a long time made from recycled (of course) Red Stripe Bottles-- sure to make that Red Stripe drinker very, very happy.

So you want these? Email me right now! Tell me something you learned from the Bottlehood website and make sure you follow my blog. Thats it! You have until Sunday the 30th-- good luck!

Find your sweet spot

Thank you to Sweet Spot Pillow for letting me try out one of their luxury pillows designed just for me! Don't worry you can design your own Sweet Spot Pillow too, just use their cool "Pillow Advisor" tool found on their website that asks you questions like how you sleep and your build to recommend the best possible pillow for you, then you also have a variety of sizes to choose from to make your pillow even more custom. My best pillow match was the Low-Profile and I chose the Queen size. "This model has the least amount of support chamber fill and loft for back, stomach and petite side sleepers. This is not a flat pillow."
So why choose a Sweet Spot pillow over a standard pillow? How about this?
  • Helps promote better circulation
  • Better loft to reduce shoulder pain
  • Reduces arm numbness and neck fatigue
  • CPAP/BPAP friendly for apnea sleepers
  • Helps offset cumulative Sleep Debt
  • Hypoallergenic fill
  • 100% soft cotton tailored shell
  • Hand crafted Amish quality
  • Convenient travel case
  • Machine Washable
  • Comfort Guarantee

Not only is this a great present to yourself but how about a great present for those you love? I can not think of a better present than that of a great night sleep. I can only speak for my own Sweet Spot pillow but laying on this pillow my neck felt relaxed and my spine felt in line with the way my head was resting, I just feel more comfortable in general. I love that instead of flattening out when I am laying on this pillow it keeps its shape. For all of this it is also very affordable-- and comes with a guarantee, if I were you I would log on fast because they are currently hosting a BOGO sale that will not last long.
